Maang tikka
Tried with the haar, not bought from a photo alone. Gold, kundan, or diamond. Made to match the set you already sat for.
What a bridal maang tikka is
The piece on the parting. It has to sit with the haar and the earrings, so most families pick the necklace first, then the tikka. Gold, kundan, or diamond. Hallmark on gold. Certificate if the sitting is diamond. Tried in the room, not bought from a photo alone.
Gold tikka in the bridal trays. Kundan when we have it. Diamond tikka for a diamond sitting. Pieces made to match a set that is already on the table. We do not have a standalone maang tikka photograph on the site as a product shot. The pieces are in the bridal trays. Ask them to open the set.
A wedding sitting is usually the haar first, then earrings, the tikka, a baju band, mangalsutra, sometimes a nath. The overview is bridal jewellery. Necklace details are on necklaces.
When people buy a maang tikka
A wedding. Almost always with the necklace, not as a lone gift. Sometimes a remake to match a haar bought years ago, or a haar made from a screenshot this month. We try to do what is right for the customer at that point. We will not sell a tikka that fights the haar because it is what is in the box this week.
If the tray does not have a match, they make one. If you don’t like it, give it back and we will remake it. Because we care about the customer being satisfied. Say the length of the chain on the parting, and whether the motif must match the haar. Custom.
How a maang tikka is checked
Hallmark on gold. Certificate on diamonds. The hook or the chain on the parting gets checked. Finish. How it sits with the haar in the room. All jewellery passes strict QC. How a piece is checked. After you take it home, store it with the set, not loose in a shared box. Jewellery care.
Which showroom for maang tikka
Gold and kundan tikka at Bhayandar. Phoolji and Yogeshji. Mira Road — Gopalji and Ramji. Diamond tikka at Kundali if that is the sitting you want. Kandivali is last. Vijay and Mahendra. People also come here from Borivali, Malad and Dahisar. Message before a wedding week if you want trays pulled.
Why the tikka is tried with the haar
A maang tikka that looks right in a box can sit wrong on a parting next to a heavy haar. That is why we ask families to pick the necklace first. Then the tikka. Then the earrings if they are not already in the set. Gold, kundan, or diamond. The language has to match. We will not sell a modern diamond tikka onto a temple haar because it is what is in the box this week.
Wedding weeks are busy. Message the store you use and ask them to pull the bridal trays. Do not leave the tikka to the morning of the function. If we make one from a photograph and you don’t like it, give it back and we will remake it. Because we care about the customer being satisfied. That remake needs days, not hours.
Three generations of certain families have sat for wedding jewellery here. Most staff have stayed over 10 years. A mother who bought her tikka at Bhayandar often brings her daughter to the same counter, or to Mira Road if that is closer now. Kandivali is the newest door, last in the list. We do not sell online. A tikka has to be tried.
How a visit usually goes
Walk in. Say what you want. They open the tray. You try the weight or the size. They show the hallmark or the certificate. If the piece is not there, they take a photograph and a date. If you do not like the finished work, give it back and we remake it.
We are customer first. We think long term. People have been trusting these stores for generations. Since 1992, about 34 years. Most staff have stayed over 10 years. We do not sell online. We do not publish gold rates or making charges. Gold you bought from us is 100% exchange value. Gold from elsewhere: a nominal melting loss. We try to give the best buyback and exchange we can. Sit with the piece at the counter.
Message the store you already use if you are travelling across the city for one size or one length. A cropped story from Instagram, Facebook or Pinterest is enough to start. Custom work is a large part of what leaves these counters. The longer page is custom jewellery. How a piece is checked is on hallmark and QC.
